Panchanga Nirnayak Samiti: 11:51 am most auspicious for Bhaitika this Saturday

The Nepal Panchanga Nirnayak Samiti (Nepal Calendar Determination Committee), the government authority to prepare festival calendars, has announced the most auspicious time for receiving and offering Bhaitika on the final day of Tihar festival this year.

Chairperson of the Committee, Prof Dr Ram Chandra Gautam told RSS that 11:51 am on coming Saturday, October 21, is the most auspicious time for the same.

The Tihar festival, also known as Yamapanchak, will be celebrated from October 17 to October 21 this year.

The first day will see worshipping of crows and the second day of dogs. In the evening of the third day, Laxmi Puja will be done. Likewise, the fourth day will be marked as Mha Puja and Govardhan Puja. The fifth day is Bhaitika, when brothers and sisters exchance love, blessings and gifts with each other.
