Kathmandu, May 8
Only 433 out of the 753 local units in the country have submitted particulars about vacant posts in their respective units to the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration within the deadline.
The Ministry had notified the local governments to send the particulars specifying the number and name of vacant posts to it by May 3.
Bhupa Raj Baral, Joint Secretary at the Ministry, says that 320 local units have not yet sent the details about the vacant posts and they have been alerted to do so.
According to him, the units submitting the details have sent particulars of around 10,000 vacant posts.
The Ministry will send the particulars about the vacant posts at the local level to the Public Service Commission for filling up the vacant posts.
Although the Ministry has carried out employee adjustment in 50,790 out of the 66,908 posts at the local level, there is still a shortfall of 16,118 employees.
The Ministry had adjusted 100 thousand 31 employees ar the federation (centre), province and local levels on April 7.
