One way traffic operation resumes along Prithvi Highway after obstruction

Kathmandu, June 27

A landslide at Baireni Bazaar in Galchhi rural municipality of Dhading district obstructed Prithvi Highway for some hours on Thursday morning.

The one kilometre section from Baireni Bazaar to Mahesh Dobhan was obstructed from 2:30 am today. Police cleared the debris and resumed one way traffic from around 9 am.

Police say they are working to clear the road to facilitate the two way transportation. Excavators of the rural municipality and local traders have been used.

Locals have complained that sand mining just above the road resulted in the landslide.

Prithvi Highway connects Kathmandu to Pokhara. A section of the highway also connects Kathmandu to mid-Tarai districts via Chitwan.
