One arrested with customs-evaded goods worth Rs 5.3 million

Kathmandu, August 21

Goods worth Rs 5.3 million that were being brought from Delhi to Kathmandu without paying customs duties have been seized. Police seized the goods from Nagdhunga in Chandragiri Municipality-2.

According to police, the customs-evaded goods were being transported in the passage of a bus (Ba Pra 03-001 Kha 3536) travelling from Delhi to Kathmandu.

The seized items include mobile phones, laptops, tempered glass, clothes and shoes, with a total value of Rs 5.3 million. Bus driver Pavindar Rana Magar, 34, of Katari Municipality-11, has been arrested.

He has been handed over to the Airport Customs Office for further investigation.
