Exterior

The Omoda 5 EV can grab attention with its futuristic modern and bold styling. On the front, it has an X-shaped face of two boomerang-like DRLs meeting in the middle. A mesh grille adds a sporty feel, while sleek LED headlights are situated just below the LED DRLs. The overall front look is modern with the all-around LED setup and also bulky with the cuts and corners for aerodynamics.

Moving to the side the Omoda 5 EV gets a smooth, sloping roofline which gives it a sporty coupe feel. The 18-inch Alloy wheels and blacked-out pillars add a modern touch. The sharp lines on the doors and fenders make it look tough and muscular.

Around the back, the Omoda 5 EV keeps its futuristic theme going. A wide wraparound LED taillight with a 3D effect is given. The LED light stretches across the trunk lid, making the car seem wider. A small spoiler sits on top to reduce drag and increase downforce which helps in efficiency.

Interior

The Omoda 5 EV’s interior is a blend of modern tech, practicality and luxury. The wide dash features a driver-oriented layout, with soft-touch materials and wooden-type materials that can be found in the centre console and sides for a premium feel.

A large 24.6-inch curved screen dominates the front serving as the hub for the infotainment system and the digital instrument cluster. The front digital instrument cluster is bright and displays information like speed, battery, range, distance travelled, trip meter, modes, safety warnings and battery consumption.

The other half of the huge screen is the infotainment system which manages navigation, music, climate control, and ambient lighting, offering a range of functionalities. The climate control has been shifted to the infotainment system for a modern appeal. However, the centre console which carries on the wooden theme does feature the AC button and airflow button for quick access. The centre console also has power on/off, mode and park button. It has a large storage compartment and cup holders along with a wireless charger for added features.

The front seats on the Omoda 5 EV provide ample legroom and headroom. The driver’s seat is 6-way power-adjustable. There are two interior colour options Black and Beige + Blue. The rear seats offer decent space for three people with ample headroom and legroom.

The boot space is decent with a capacity of 360 litres and around 1,020 litres when the rear seats a folded down.

Performance

The Omoda 5 EV has a good performance with its Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor delivering a 99 kW capacity. It can generate a maximum power of 130 Ps and 340 Nm of maximum torque. The power is enough for city diving and even highway driving.

It is equipped with a 61 kWh Lithium-ion battery featuring Blade Technology. The Omoda 5 EV offers a generous range of 430 kilometres on the WLTP cycle. The real-world range can be expected somewhere around 370 kilometres to 400 kilometres. Using its DC fast charging capability of up to 110 kW, charging the battery is quick and convenient, taking just 30 minutes to reach 80% capacity. It has a top speed of 172 km/h and has Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) system.

The Omoda 5 EV features a suspension setup comprising MacPherson struts at the front and a Multi-link Independent system at the rear, providing a balanced smoothness.
