Kathmandu, May 29
For the coming fiscal 2073-74 BS, the KP Sharma Oli government has allocated Rs 10 billion for the construction of the Kathmandu-Nijgadh fast track.
Minister for Finance Bishnu Poudel announced this while presenting the budget for the coming fiscal on Saturday. He said the construction of the expressway will begin from the coming fiscal.
The government will set up an office for expediting the ambitious project. Poudel said there will be no dearth of resources for the project. This project is considered crucial for better connectivity between Kathmandu and the country’s southern plains. Then government was making preparations to hand over the contract for the construction of the expressway to an Indian company. The Oli government later decided to develop the project on its own.
