Kathmandu, January 15

Nurses across the country have launched a protest on Monday demanding that their colleagues the Human Organ Transplant Centre fired recently be reinstated.

As per the announcement by Nepal Nursing Association, the health workers boycotted their service to patients for three hours, from 10 am to 1 pm, today.

They have put forward 11 demands including the reinstatement of seven personnel fired by the hospital.

Meanwhile, services at various health facilities were obstructed due to the protest today.

Acting President of the organisation, Ganga Thapa, says the protesters will boycott the service for three hours for three days and will not report to work for the whole day for next three days.

She says the organisation was resorted to the protest after the Ministry of Health did not take any initiative to meet their demands, warning the organisation would announce more severe protests if their demands were not met in next six days.
