NEPSE: Increased by 4.78 points, with a turnover of 2.62 billion

On Thursday, the last trading day of the week, the stock market index NEPSE improved by a single digit.

The market index NEPSE increased by 4.78 points and closed at 2035.64 points. As the market is open for four trading days a week, the NEPSE closed higher on Tuesday and Thursday, but on Monday and Wednesday, it fell by double digits.

On Thursday, banking, hotels and tourism including microfinance, non-life insurance and business sub-indices declined, but all sub-indices increased.

The non-life insurance sub-index declined the most by 0.66 per cent while the microfinance sub-index declined by 0.48 per cent. Production and processing sub-index increased by 2.40 per cent.

Although there was a general increase in NEPSE, the sensitive index that measures ‘A’ class companies decreased by 0.36 points and closed at 359.09 points.

Due to the same increase in NEPSE, shares of Rs 2.62 billion have been traded. In 53,111 transactions, 6,547,634 shares of listed securities were traded.

Among the transactions that took place today, the share price of Himalayan Energy Development Company increased by 10 per cent and the share price of Sarbottam Cement increased by 9.96 per cent and closed at the positive circuit level.

Similarly, the share price of Himalayan Hydropower has increased by 8.73 per cent.
