Kathmandu, June 3

Nepali students who were stranded in Nepal owing to the Covid pandemic will be permitted to return to China to continue their studies.

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology stated in a notice that the return of Nepali students studying in China will take place in multiple phases.

In the first phase, 281 Nepali students will return. The students have been asked to follow specific guidelines and immediately apply for a visa to return to China.

Since China formally closed its doors to international students in February 2020, students who had come to Nepal during the winter break had been stranded. The students, who were rescued by Nepal from China, have also not been able to return to China.
