Nepali Congress urges PM not to deviate from Kalapani-Limpiyadhura to Ayodhya

Kathmandu, July 14

The main opposition party, Nepali Congress, has urged Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli not to deviate from the pending task of reclaiming the ownership of Kalapani-Limpiyadhura region.

In the wake of the prime minister’s controversial statement that God Ram, a mythological character, was born in Nepal, not India, the main opposition party has reminded Oli that his immediate responsibility should be reclaiming Kalapani and combatting the Covid-19 crisis.

“Let’s not deviate to Ayodhya, rather we should take serious diplomatic initiatives to claim rights over the land included in the new political map endorsed by Parliament,” says the party spokesperson Bishwa Prakash Sharma.

Meanwhile, some leaders of Oli’s own Nepal Communist Party, including the vice-chairman Bamdev Gautam, have also objected to Oli’s ‘unproven’ claim about the birthplace of Ram.
