Nepal weather: Monsoon to be active again from Thursday

Kathmandu, August 10

The monsoon effects would be active across the country from Thursday as the monsoon low-pressure system would gradually shift closer to the Tarai region.

Meteorologist Raju Pradhananga says that light to moderate rainfall has been predicted at most places of the country due to the system.

Some places of Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati, Gandaki and Lumbini provinces would witness heavy rainfall on Thursday. Similarly, heavy rainfall has been forecast at some places of Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces on Friday and Saturday.

The Meteorological Forecasting Division has requested all to stay alert.

The weather condition at most of the places across the country is cloudy at present and light to moderate rainfall has been taking place at some places of Province 1, Province 2, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.

Meteorologist Pradhananga says there is a possibility of heavy rainfall along with thunder at one or two places of Province 1, Bagmati and Lumbini provinces today.

As per the weather update shared by the division, the minimum temperature is 19.8 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is 29.2 degrees Celsius in the Kathmandu valley today.
