Kathmandu, April 3
The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) has suspended Nepal Red Cross Society (NRCS) President Sudarshan Prasad Nepal along with four others.
In an official letter to President Nepal and Vice President Bishal Bhandari, the IFRC informed them of the suspension. The other suspended officials include Binod Kumar Basnet, Manoj Kumar Thapa, Bhupati Lal Shrestha, and Narayan Timilsina.
They were suspended on charges of violating the fundamental principles of the organisation, failing to adhere to basic regulations, fostering administrative disorder, and allegedly misusing political influence for financial gain.
