Nepal Rastra Bank issuing new five-rupee note Tuesday

Kathmandu, August 14

The central bank of Nepal is issuing a new note of Rs five denomination on Tuesday.

The new note will feature the Kasthamandap Temple which collapsed in the 2015 earthquake, says Nepal Rastra Bank. The existing note features Taleju Bhawani Temple located in Bhaktapur.

Likewise, the picture of Mount Everest will be replaced by a mountain in Limi area of Humla. The yak’s picture will also be changed.

The colour of the note, however, will remain intact.
