Kathmandu, November 8
Nepal Police has celebrated Kukur Tihar with a programme at the Canine Office in Maharajgunj.
On the occasion, the force’s trained dogs showed off a range of skills. They also demonstrated how police dogs are deployed in the search for missing people, and how they help investigators when someone has been murdered and the suspect has absconded.
The dogs also took part in races and obstacle courses, and performed other tricks. Chief guest DIG Om Rana said the dogs have been a great help to police in criminal investigation, search and rescue, and security.
Nepal Police has been using dogs in criminal investigation and search and rescue since 2026 BS.
