Kathmandu, November 7

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has stressed the need to pass the impeachment motion presented in the Parliament against suspended CIAA Chief Commissioner Lokman Singh Karki.

He said there’s a need to pass the motion against Karki for the sake of democracy. PM Prachana said this while talking to a team of human rights activists on Monday morning.

Top leaders of major political parties are in favour of passing the motion, Prachanda said, adding that homework is afoot to pass the motion. The team under human rights activist Krishna Pahadi demanded inclusion of ‘non-violence’ in the preamble of the Constitution. The delegation also pointed that human rights violators should not be appointed in public posts, and asked the government to launch a national campaign against drug abuse.

The delegates also called for creation of a conducive environment for conducting local-level polls and formation of a commission on climate change.
