Nepal minister will talk about border dispute with India officially this week: PM Oli

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli addresses a National Assembly meeting, in Kathmandu, on Sunday, January 10, 2021.

Kathmandu, January 10

Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli says Nepal’s Foreign Affairs Minister Pradeep Kumar Gyawali will officially talk about the border dispute with India during his New Delhi visit later this week.

Oli says Gyawali is paying a visit to New Delhi this Thursday for a meeting of the Nepal-India Joint Commission.

Addressing a National Assembly meeting, the last of the current session, on Sunday afternoon, Oli also claimed his government was committed to bringing back the lack of Kalapani, Lipulekh and Limpiyadhura, allegedly encroached on by India.

Earlier, the government had issued a new political map of the country in May 2020. However, the Oli government is under fire for failing to get back the real control of the land.

But, he claimed today the visit would help Nepal ‘forward the bilateral relations practically.’
