The National Reconstruction Authority has requested Non-Resident Nepalis’ Association to prepare within May 25 its master plan on development of a quake-devastated Laprak village as a model village.

The government body called NRNA to develop Laprak of Gorkha district as a model village within two years. In a letter to NRNA, the authority has urged the latter to get the master plan approved within a month from the date of signing a tripartite agreement on development of Laprak as a model village. It has called NRNA to make sure that the project meets the completion deadline.

Eight days ago, NRA, Ministry of Urban Development and NRNA had signed a tripartite deal on turning Laprak into a model village.

NRA has decided to make housing grants for Laprak people available through NRNA. In this connection, NRA has requested the Ministry of Local Development to ensure that the quake victims do not get housing allowance twice — from NRNA and NRA — by getting the list of quake victims eligible for grant from Gorkha district development committee, NRA Spokesperson Ram Prasad Thapaliya told Onlinekhabar.

NRA has requested the Ministry of Drinking Water and Sanitation to identify a source of drinking water for the village and allocate adequate budget in the coming fiscal for development of a drinking water project that will supply water to the settlement.

Furthermore, it has asked the Ministry of Energy to do the needful for electrification of the village.
