Nepal Electricity Authority launches online bill payment system

Kathmandu, August 21

The Nepal Electricity Authority on Monday launched an online bill payment system for its consumers.

The system was launched from its Lagankhel office today and the Authority plans to expand it to all offices of Kathmandu Valley within next 15 days.

Now, the electricity bills can be paid via any branch of Mahalaxmi Development Bank, E-Sewa Pvt Ltd, Prabhu Bank, CFS Remit Pvt Ltd, Pay-Point Pvt Ltd and City Express.

The Authority is preparing to sign agreements with Himalayan Bank, Nepal Investment Bank and Nepal Clearing House to reach more customers.

The payment can be made through kiosk, POS device and mobile app as well.

Meanwhile, Minister for Energy Mahendra Bahadur Shahi says the Authority will soon install smart metres at consumers’ houses and the staff need not visit individual households to read the metres.
