Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,558 new cases, 1,351 recoveries, 10 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 877,734 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry said 1,558 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 8,665 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 1,086 returned positive. Likewise, 3,720 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 472 tested positive.

Of total tests, 12.53 per cent of the PCR and 12.68 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 12.57 per cent.

As of today, there are 25,497 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,547 are hospitalised, 386 in intensive care units and 117 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,351 people have achieved recovery whereas 10 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 746,566 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,012 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 95.34 per cent and the death rate is 1.41 per cent.

Meanwhile, 60,159 people were vaccinated today.
