Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,511 new cases, 1,689 recoveries, 11 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 870,176 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 1,511 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 11,208 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 1,165 returned positive. Likewise, 3,971 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 346 tested positive.

Of total tests, 10.39 per cent of the PCR and 8.71 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 9.95 per cent.

As of today, there are 25,772 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,550 are hospitalised, 407 in intensive care units and 128 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,689 people have achieved recovery whereas 11 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 745,215 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,002 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 95.3 per cent and the death rate is 1.41 per cent.

Meanwhile, 110,899 people were vaccinated today.
