Nepal Covid-19 tally hits 15,964

Kathmandu, July 6

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 15,964 as of Monday afternoon.

In his daily press briefing in Kathmandu, the ministry’s spokesperson Jageshwor Gautam said 180 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. In total, 4,721 swab samples were tested in this period. Nepal has tested over 250,000 people for coronavirus so far.

Of the total cases so far, 6,811 people have achieved recovery whereas 34 died, according to him. In the past 24 hours, 264 people have been discharged. Nepal’s current discharge rate is 42.7 per cent.

Other 9,118 cases are active currently.

The disease has spread across all 77 districts of the country. Of them, Mahottari, Rautahat, Palpa, Kailali, Achham, and Bajura have more than 500 active cases each.

Over 29,000 people are quarantined across the country, waiting to be tested.
