Nepal Covid-19 tally: 805 new cases, 911 recoveries, 8 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 893,072 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry said 805 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,264 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 667 returned positive. Likewise, 3,408 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 138 tested positive.

Of total tests, 9.18 per cent of the PCR and 4.04 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 7.54 per cent.

As of today, there are 15,942 active cases across the country. Of them, 1,214 are hospitalised, 329 in intensive care units and 112 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 911 people have achieved recovery whereas eight deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 773,104 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,200 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 96.4 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 57,158 people were vaccinated today.
