Nepal Covid-19 tally: 7,598 PCR and 316 antigen cases in 24 hours; death toll up by 193

Kathmandu, May 23

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 513,214 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry says 7,598 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 18,965 swab samples were tested. So far, 2 million and 916,468 people have been tested in the country.

Likewise, 961 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 316 tested positive.

As of today, there are 115,547active cases across the country. Of them, 7,349 are hospitalised, 1,721 in intensive care units, and 484 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 7644 people have achieved recovery whereas 193 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 76.3 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 391,348 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 6,346 died, according to the ministry.

Over 850 are quarantined across the country.
