Nepal Covid-19 tally: 666 new cases, 622 recoveries, 11 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 904,513 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry said 666 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,771 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 569 returned positive. Likewise, 2,249 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 97 tested positive.

Of total tests, 5.82 per cent of the PCR and 4.31 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 5.54 per cent.

As of today, there are 10,296 active cases across the country. Of them, 784 are hospitalised, 252 in intensive care units and 80 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 662 people have achieved recovery whereas 11 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 788,630 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,372 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.3 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 73,427 people were vaccinated today.
