Nepal Covid-19 tally: 662 new cases, 758 recoveries, 13 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 900,748 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry said 662 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,022 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 535 returned positive. Likewise, 1,404 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 127 tested positive.

Of total tests, 7.61 per cent of the PCR and 9.04 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 8.99 per cent.

As of today, there are 11,579 active cases across the country. Of them, 807 are hospitalised, 276 in intensive care units and 104 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 758 people have achieved recovery whereas 13 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 784,155 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,318 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.1 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 9,802 people were vaccinated today.
