Nepal Covid-19 tally: 5,825 PCR and 1,000 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 75

Kathmandu, June 3

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 576,936 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry says 5,825 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. In this period, 18,562 swab samples were tested. The positivity rate was 31.38 per cent.

So far, 3 million and 106,938 people have been tested in the country.

Likewise, 3,211 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 1,000 tested positive.

As of today, there are 101,839 active cases across the country. Of them, 6,930 are hospitalised, 1,444 in intensive care units and 398 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 5,904 people have achieved recovery whereas 75 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 81 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 467,467 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 7,630 died, according to the ministry.

Over 830 are quarantined across the country.
