Nepal Covid-19 tally: 533 new cases, 490 recoveries, 9 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, November 1

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 907,638 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 533 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,468 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 441 returned positive. Likewise, 4,196 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 92 tested positive.

Of total tests, 5.90 per cent of the PCR and 2.19 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 4.56 per cent.

As of today, there are 9,318 active cases across the country. Of them, 720 are hospitalised, 241 in intensive care units and 74 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 490 people have achieved recovery whereas nine deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 792,277 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,416 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.4 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 65,028 people were vaccinated today.
