Nepal Covid-19 tally: 412 new cases, 202 recoveries, 1 death in 24 hours

Kathmandu, November 17

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 913,258 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry said 412 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 10,106 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 363 returned positive. Likewise, 1,887 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 49 tested positive.

Of total tests, 3.59 per cent of the PCR and 2.60 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 3.43 per cent.

As of today, there are 7,636 active cases across the country. Of them, 473 are hospitalised, 224 in intensive care units and 60 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 202 people have achieved recovery whereas one death was reported.

Of the total cases so far, 798,916 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,483 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.7 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 101,761 people were vaccinated today.
