Nepal Covid-19 tally: 408 new cases, 518 recoveries, 8 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, October 31

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 907,105 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry said 408 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 5,731 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 376 returned positive. Likewise, 2,168 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 32 tested positive.

Of total tests, 6.56 per cent of the PCR and 1.47 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 5.16 per cent.

As of today, there are 9,376 active cases across the country. Of them, 761 are hospitalised, 225 in intensive care units and 70 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 518 people have achieved recovery whereas eight deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 791,787 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 11,407 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 97.4 per cent and the death rate is 1.4 per cent.

Meanwhile, 38,815 people were vaccinated today.
