Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,449 PCR and 895 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 81

Kathmandu, June 9

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 615,562 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry says 3,449 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. In this period, 12,074 swab samples were tested. Nepal’s case positivity rate is 28.6 per cent as of today.

Likewise, 4,568 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 895 tested positive.

As of today, there are 80,336 active cases across the country. Of them, 5,898 are hospitalised, 1,312 in intensive care units and 375 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 5,768 people have achieved recovery whereas 81 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 85.2 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 510,298 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 8,179 died, according to the ministry.

Over 630 are quarantined across the country.
