Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,421 new cases, 1,686 recoveries, 25 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, July 26

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 738,918 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry 3,421 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 12,240 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 2,391 returned positive. Likewise, 5,032 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 1,030 tested positive.

Of total tests, 19.53 per cent of the PCR and 20.46 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 19.81 per cent.

As of today, there are 27,908 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,815 are hospitalised, 669 in intensive care units and 166 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,686 people have achieved recovery whereas 25 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 645,301 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,738 died, according to the ministry. Likewise, 1,423,416 people have been fully vaccinated whereas 3,670,840 have been vaccinated at least once.

Nepal’s current positivity rate is 94.5 per cent whereas the death rate is 1.5 per cent.
