Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,365 new cases, 1,373 recoveries, 16 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, July 29

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 750,022 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry 3,365 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,555 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 2,335 returned positive. Likewise, 4,687 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 1,030 tested positive.

Of total tests, 24.43 per cent of the PCR and 21.97 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 23.62 per cent.

As of today, there are 30,390 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,035 are hospitalised, 636 in intensive care units and 160 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,373 people have achieved recovery whereas 16 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 650,445 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,807 died, according to the ministry.
