Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,108 new cases, 1,595 recoveries, 25 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, July 20

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 721,617 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry 3,108 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 8,836 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 2,202 returned positive. Likewise, 4,299 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 906 tested positive.

Of total tests, 24.92 per cent of the PCR and 21.07 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 26.66 per cent.

As of today, there are 26,419 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,585 are hospitalised, 592 in intensive care units and 172 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,595 people have achieved recovery whereas 25 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 634,927 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,607 died, according to the ministry.
