Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,106 new cases, 1,916 recoveries, 23 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, July 31

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 756,739 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry 3,106 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,263 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 2,280 returned positive. Likewise, 4,256 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 826 tested positive.

Of total tests, 24.61 per cent of the PCR and 19.41 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 22.97 per cent.

As of today, there are 31,355 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,101 are hospitalised, 706 in intensive care units and 166 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,916 people have achieved recovery whereas 23 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 654,177 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,857 died, according to the ministry.
