Nepal Covid-19 tally: 3,024 PCR and 455 antigen new cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 99

Kathmandu, June 6

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 601,693 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry says 3,024 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. In this period, 10,471 swab samples were tested. The positivity rate was 28.9 per cent today.

Likewise, 3,262 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 455 tested positive.

As of today, there are 89,217 active cases across the country. Of them, 6,514 are hospitalised, 1,442 in intensive care units and 381 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 6,636 people have achieved recovery whereas 99 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 83.5 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 491,009 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 7,898 died, according to the ministry.

Over 700 are quarantined across the country.
