Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,894 PCR and 875 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 59

Kathmandu, June 10

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 619,331 as of Thursday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,894 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. In this period, 9,901 swab samples were tested. Nepal’s case positivity rate is 29.1 per cent as of today.

Likewise, 5,337 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 875 tested positive.

As of today, there are 77,858 active cases across the country. Of them, 5,680 are hospitalised, 1,261 in intensive care units and 382 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 5,293 people have achieved recovery whereas 59 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 85.7 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 515,591 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 8,238 died, according to the ministry.

Over 630 are quarantined across the country.
