Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,892 new cases, 3,597 recoveries, 20 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, June 30

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 673,749 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,892 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,178 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 1,889 returned positive. Likewise, 4,381 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 1,003 tested positive.

Of total tests, 26.3 per cent of the PCR and 22.8 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 25 per cent.

As of today, there are 34,605 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,961 are hospitalised, 627 in intensive care units and 175 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 3,597 people have achieved recovery whereas 41 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 596,132 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,112 died, according to the ministry. Nepal’s current recovery rate is 93.3 per cent and the death rate 1.5 per cent.
