Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,709 PCR and 1,041 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 67

Kathmandu, June 11

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 623,151 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,709 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. In this period, 9,598 swab samples were tested. Nepal’s case positivity rate is 28.2 per cent as of today.

Likewise, 5,584 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 1,041 tested positive.

As of today, there are 75,275 active cases across the country. Of them, 5,589 are hospitalised, 1,189 in intensive care units and 366 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 5,225 people have achieved recovery whereas 67 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 86.2 per cent whereas the death rate 1.6 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 520,816 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 8,305 died, according to the ministry.
