Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,568 new cases, 2,020 recoveries, 18 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 759,307 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry 2,568 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 8,402 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 1,981 returned positive. Likewise, 4,234 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 587 tested positive.

Of total tests, 23.57 per cent of the PCR and 13.86 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 20.32 per cent.

As of today, there are 31,298 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,235 are hospitalised, 677 in intensive care units and 169 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2,020 people have achieved recovery whereas 18 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 656,197 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,875 died, according to the ministry. Likewise, 1,813,471 people have received their full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while 4,064,288 have received their first dose. Today, 195,132 people were vaccinated throughout the country.
