Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,548 new cases, 2,029 recoveries, 55 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 783,355 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry said 2,548 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,033 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 2,137 returned positive. Likewise, 3,345 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 411 tested positive.

Of total tests, 23.65 per cent of the PCR and 12.28 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 20.58 per cent.

As of today, there are 35,485 active cases across the country. Of them, 3,522 are hospitalised, 802 in intensive care units and 181 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2,029 people have achieved recovery whereas 55 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 669,299 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,093 died, according to the ministry. Likewise, 2,492,182 people have received their full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine while 4,494,269 have received their first dose. Today, 184,036 people were vaccinated throughout the country.
