Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,476 new cases, 5,455 recoveries, 27 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, June 25

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 661,841 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,476 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 9,586 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 1,721 returned positive. Likewise, 4,765 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 755 tested positive.

Of total tests, 17.95 per cent of the PCR and 15.84 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 17.25 per cent.

As of today, there are 45,794 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,884 are hospitalised, 714 in intensive care units and 201 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 5,455 people have achieved recovery whereas 27 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 576,413 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 8,945 died, according to the ministry. Nepal’s current recovery rate is 91.3 per cent and the death rate 1.5 per cent.
