Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,445 new cases, 1,258 recoveries, 32 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, July 19

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 718,494 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry 2,445 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,833 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 1,642 returned positive. Likewise, 3,831 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 803 tested positive.

Of total tests, 20.96 per cent of the PCR and 20.96 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 20.96 per cent.

As of today, there are 25,837 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,503 are hospitalised, 564 in intensive care units and 155 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,258 people have achieved recovery whereas 32 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 633,332 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9582 died, according to the ministry.
