Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,398 new cases, 2,078 recoveries, 12 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, July 13

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 703,856 as of Tuesday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,398 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 7,058 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 1,639 returned positive. Likewise, 3,954 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 759 tested positive.

Of total tests, 23.22 per cent of the PCR and 19.19 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 21.77 per cent.

As of today, there are 26,261 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,722 are hospitalised, 586 in intensive care units and 182 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 2,078 people have achieved recovery whereas 12 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 623,105 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,412 died, according to the ministry.
