Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,382 PCR and 1,002 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 61

Kathmandu, June 12

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 626,535 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,382 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours. In this period, 8,506 swab samples were tested.

Likewise, 5,988 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 1,002 tested positive.

As of today, there are 71,301 active cases across the country. Of them, 5,348 are hospitalised, 1,206 in intensive care units and 373 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 6,295 people have achieved recovery whereas 61 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s recovery rate is 86.9 per cent whereas the death rate 1.6 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 527,111 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 8,366 died, according to the ministry.
