Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,239 new cases, 1,316 recoveries, 20 deaths in 24 hours

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 694,818 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,239 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 6,657 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 1,479 returned positive. Likewise, 4,656 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 760 tested positive.

Of total tests, 22.21 per cent of the PCR and 16.32 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 19.79 per cent.

As of today, there are 26,590 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,670 are hospitalised, 539 in intensive care units and 166 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,316 people have achieved recovery whereas 20 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 616,929 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,340 died, according to the ministry.
