Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,016 new cases, 4,914 recoveries, 30 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, June 26

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 663,857 as of Saturday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,016 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 4,704 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 1,174 returned positive. Likewise, 4,806 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 842 tested positive.

As of today, there are 42,024 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,825 are hospitalised, 734 in intensive care units and 222 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 4,914 people have achieved recovery whereas 30 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 581,327 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 8,975 died, according to the ministry. Nepal’s current recovery rate is 91.9 per cent and the death rate 1.5 per cent.
