Nepal Covid-19 tally: 2,014 PCR and 814 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 52

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 637,433 as of Wednesday afternoon.

The ministry says 2,014 new cases were confirmed in the country in RT-PCR tests in the past 24 hours. In this period, 8,687 swab samples were tested.

Likewise, 4,335 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 814 tested positive.

As of today, there are 62,137 active cases across the country. Of them, 4,311 are hospitalised, 902 in intensive care units and 279 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 3,082 people have achieved recovery whereas 52 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is 88.5 per cent and the fatality rate 1.6 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 543,521 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 8,558 died, according to the ministry.
