Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,963 PCR and 805 antigen cases in 24 hours, death toll up by 44

Kathmandu, June 18

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 642,808 as of Friday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,963 new cases were confirmed in the country in RT-PCR tests in the past 24 hours. In this period, 7,569 swab samples were tested.

Likewise, 5,468 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 805 tested positive.

As of today, there are 59,624 active cases across the country. Of them, 4,249 are hospitalised, 872 in intensive care units and 246 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 4,020 people have achieved recovery whereas 44 deaths have been reported. Nepal’s current recovery rate is 89 per cent and the fatality rate 1.6 per cent.

Of the total cases so far, 549,682 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 8,641 died, according to the ministry.
