Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,897 new cases, 1,743 recoveries, 20 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, September 6

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that Nepal’s Covid-19 tally has reached 856,218 as of Monday afternoon.

The ministry said 1,897 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 11,609 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which returned 1,488 returned positive. Likewise, 4,370 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 409 tested positive.

Of total tests, 12.81 per cent of the PCR and 9.35 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 11.87 per cent.

As of today, there are 28,911 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,062 are hospitalised, 512 in intensive care units and 163 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,743 people have achieved recovery whereas 20 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 728,928 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 10,858 died, according to the ministry. The country’s recovery rate is 94.6 per cent and the death rate is 1.41 per cent.

Meanwhile, 107,232 people were vaccinated today.
