Nepal Covid-19 tally: 1,831 new cases, 1,533 recoveries, 20 deaths in 24 hours

Kathmandu, July 11

The Ministry of Health and Population has informed that the country’s Covid-19 tally has reached 699,088 as of Sunday afternoon.

The ministry says 1,831 new cases were confirmed in the country in the past 24 hours.

In this period, 5,535 swab samples were tested in the RT-PCR method, of which 1,237 returned positive. Likewise, 3,683 people underwent antigen tests for the virus, of which an additional 594 tested positive.

Of total tests, 22.03 per cent of the PCR and 16.12 per cent of antigen samples returned positive, keeping the overall per-day positivity rate at 19.86 per cent.

As of today, there are 26,173 active cases across the country. Of them, 2,702 are hospitalised, 553 in intensive care units and 175 on ventilators.

In the past 24 hours, 1,533 people have achieved recovery whereas 20 deaths have been reported.

Of the total cases so far, 619,894 people have achieved recovery. Likewise, 9,382 died, according to the ministry.
